Olympia Beauty, autumn’s biggest event for beauty professionals, took place on Sunday 29-Monday 30 September at Olympia, London.
The event catered to all areas of the beauty industry (with more than 40 sectors represented) and offered a platform for more than 500 exhibiting brands to promote the latest services, products and innovations.
This year, the Olympia Beauty show team set out to bring in a higher quality visitor, focusing on bringing beauty business owners to the show. This was exactly what was achieved as the initiatives such as The Salon and Spa Owners’ Club saw a 65 per cent increase in attendance of such decision makers. Overall, this year’s event welcomed an incredible 18,932 visitors through its doors across two-days.
The show team also focused on bringing education to the forefront of the show, and this was achieved in so many ways. The brand new Treatwell stage in partnership with The British Beauty Council was an incredible success, with panel sessions and live demonstrations taking place on a very colourful and vibrant stage on the show floor!
Not only did they attract an incredible number of visitors, but also some fantastic speakers from brands such as NEOM, Scratch Magazine, The British Beauty Council, BABTAC, JCCP, Haircuts4Homeless, Balance Me and more.
The Education Club also delivered education in more of a closed room forum, with classrooms booked out across the show to accommodate 20 to 50 people at any one time, while the Olympia Room played host to Sweet Squared and the Light Elegance brand where renowned nail artist, Celina Rydén, took to the stage.
The introduction of the SMP and PMU Bootcamps saw the Pillar Hall packed with micropigmentation professionals and more than 20 global icons from the field. This event, in collaboration with the Finishing Touches Group, saw delegates immersing themselves in lectures and demonstrations and enjoying a networking function at the end of the first day.
The Olympia Stage on the Gallery Level also delivered talks and engaging panel discussions, with the Oncology Care Panel Discussion taking the audience by storm, before then hosting the awards ceremonies for Olympia Beauty’s various competitions.
The competitions, including Nailympia London, The Lash Games, The National Massage Championship and Brush Wars, all attracted an unprecedented number of competitors, with Nailympia London selling an outstanding 878 seats, making it the largest competition in its 15 year history! The competitions in total attracted more than 300 competitors from across the globe, more than 60 international judges and gave over 100 winners’ trophies and medals.
Olympia Beauty 2019 was a trade show to be reckoned with – one that understood its responsibility to the professionals attending, recognised the wants and needs of the industry and delivered on every possible level. Olympia Beauty 2020 will take place October 4-5 at Olympia London, where the team will be sure to raise the bar once more!
