Aside from the New Year, consumers are most likely to invest in new skincare products and routines in September, according to Pinterest.

Pinterest, the ideas and image-sharing platform, released statistics relating to searches relating to the lifestyle changes clients want to incorporate this autumn. Among the top searches during this period of time is wellness and beauty routines – “self-care routine” was trending around the end of August, with searches up by 140 per cent.

The website is also seeing a surge in searches relating to body positivity. Trending searches include “acne positivity”, up by 193 per cent, “stretch marks positivity”, with a 163 per cent increase, “body hair positivity”, up by 158 per cent and “cellulite positivity”, with a rise in searches of 69 per cent.

Pinterest commissioned a survey about consumer’s autumn preparation to coincide with the statistics. Forty-five per cent of respondents said they feel more inclined to make small improvements that will increase their happiness at this time of year.
